We are thrilled to announce that Susanne Fromm, founding partner of Vanagon Ventures, will be joining us for our third Lunch & Learn event. Co-hosted by Carmen Alfonso Rico of Cocoa VC and Julia Dous, co-founder of The Evangelistas, this session is set to be an inspiring deep dive into the future of climate tech, impact investing, and the vital role of Limited Partners (LPs) in the venture capital ecosystem.

As a leading VC investor in climate and frontier tech, Susanne brings deep expertise in B2B digital transformation and innovation. Her work at the forefront of sustainability and next-generation technologies positions her as an amazing addition and special guest for our European Super Angel Program, which is designed to elevate founders and senior operators in angel investing together with leading investors and the power of our Evangelistas community.

About Susanne Fromm & Vanagon Ventures

Susanne heads Vanagon Ventures together with her two founding partners. Vanagon is a VC fund committed to accelerating the regenerative economy. With a focus on circularity and treating nature as an asset class, Vanagon Ventures invests in next-gen technologies that address key global challenges, from environmental sustainability to economic inequality and the carbon-neutral transition.

Some of the innovative companies in Vanagon’s portfolio include:

  • Senken: The largest marketplace for digitized carbon credits.
  • Renoster: A leader in digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV) for carbon projects.
  • Particula: Providing transparency for digital environmental assets, akin to "Moody’s" for green credits.
  • The Landbanking Group: Using advanced technology to assess natural capital and create tradable assets for large-scale conservation.

Vanagon Ventures bridges innovative tech with the traditional economy, creating solutions that benefit society, investors, and the planet.

A Conversation with Susanne Fromm

As we prepare to welcome Susanne to our Lunch & Learn series, we took a moment to ask her about her work and investment philosophy.

Q: Susanne, Vanagon Ventures has a strong focus on the regenerative economy. Can you share what led you to focus on this area and why it's so important now?

Susanne: My background in B2B digital transformation showed me the power of technology to drive systemic change. Digital deeptech such as AI constitutes one of the most powerful tools to address our biggest problems - the planetary crises. We focus on solutions that protect and  rebuild natural ecosystems while creating long-term economic value. The idea is to treat nature as an asset class and bring circularity into every aspect of the economy. It’s not just a good business strategy—it's critical for our collective future.

Q: Can you explain how Limited Partners (LPs) contribute to a thriving tech ecosystem?

Susanne: LPs are essential as they provide the capital that enables funds like Vanagon Ventures to invest in groundbreaking startups. Without them, we wouldn't have the resources to fuel innovation in areas like AI-enabled climate solutions.LPs understand that these investments take time and are willing to support the growth of early-stage companies with the potential to disrupt industries and make a huge social impact. Their role is foundational to driving both innovation and economic growth.

Q: At the Lunch & Learn, you'll discuss the role of LPs and your investment strategy. What can attendees expect to take away from your session?

Susanne: I’ll be sharing insights on fund investments and how diverse LPs shape the investment landscape. We’ll also talk about the twin transition  some of the exciting startups in our portfolio that are using AI and deeptech to advance the circular economy. The goal is to demystify how venture capital works behind the scenes and show how collaborative investment efforts can drive positive environmental and economic outcomes.

Q: With Europe seeing record venture capital investment, how do you see the role of impact investors evolving in the coming years?

Susanne: The role of impact investors will only grow as we see an increasing demand for technologies that address sustainability and equity. We are realizing that investments must be aligned with long-term social and environmental goals. We're already seeing major breakthroughs, and I expect more tech-driven solutions will emerge, solving global issues like climate change and resource scarcity.
